Free workshop for Art and Design

Dear all

Apologies for cross-posting.

The Networked Virtual Reality Centres for Art and Design are being
funded by JTAP to raise awareness within the Art and Design Education
community of the posibilities of 3D Internet technologies. To this end
they are holding a free workshop in September at Coventry University.

The speakers are not all confirmed at the moment but you can keep up to
date with confirmed speakers by

a) looking out for an update on your email

b) looking out for updates to the web page about the workshop. This can
be found at

http://vr.tees.ac.uk/rachael/wshop.html

There is also a CGI form on the web page so you can reply by that rather
than email if you wish.

Best regards

Rachael Edgar

Networked Virtual Reality Centres for Art and Design

title: 'Applications of VRML and Java in Art and Design' Workshop
date: 23rd of September 1997
venue: University of Coventry
cost: FREE

Ever felt frustrated at the lack of 3d content on the World Wide Web?
Well, the Web is no longer restricted to 2D text and images, it is now
possible to create interactive 3D evironments and objects.
This workshop aims to show you what can be done with this third

with the help of VRML and Java, but without a degree in computer
programming!

*Who is this workshop for?

If you are a student or educator in Art and Design then you should be
aware of
3D on the Internet. All the speakers and their presentations have been
chosen
to be of use to anyone in the Art and Design Education community
interested in
knowing how 3D content on the Web is realised and what it is possible to
achieve with it.

*Level of knowledge required

A little knowledge of 3D computer graphics might be useful but is not
nesessary.
