The exhibition is a one-person show of the Austrian conceptual and media artist.
It is at the same time the first comprehensive retrospective of his works, to be co-produced and co-financed by the Bregenzer Kunstverein.
Gottfried Bechtolds work is known for its early orientation on the international avant-garde, and for the important impulses it gave to younger generations of Austrian artists. His oeuvre has also made decisive contributions to the process of transformation which sculpture underwent in the age of electronic immateriality.
